Flying B Ranch
The Flying B Ranch is North
America's most versatile outdoors outfitter. The ranch
operates on 4,200 acres in scenic Lawyer Creek Canyon
near Kamiah, Idaho. The Flying B Ranch also holds
exclusive outfitting rights to over 740,000 acres of the
Clearwater and Nez Perce National Forest.
The territory includes multiple alpine lakes in which
guests can experience the natural beauty of the high
country while fishing for Brook trout and Westslope
Cutthroat trout. Explore the ridges of the Clearwater
National Forest on a horseback ride to one of several
lakes to spend the day fishing. The scenery at five and
six thousand feet elevations is truly spectacular! At
the alpine lakes, you are encouraged to catch-and-keep
enough for your evening dinner, prepared nightly by our
camp chef. The exclusive outfitter access allows guests
to enjoy a permanent campsite with walled tents with
wood floors, dedicated cook tent with running water,
full-time cook, hot water shower tent, Roll-a-cots,
sleeping bags with liners, sleeping pads, and more.
The scenery of Weitas Creek country is a delight all its
own. After a short horseback ride to the deluxe
campsite, you’ll cast your fly to naïve westslope
cutthroat and rainbow trout in one of the most
productive fisheries in the West. Camp is outfitted with
walled tents with wood floors, dedicated cook tent with
running water, full-time chef, hot water showers,
Roll-a-cots, sleeping bags with liners, sleeping pads,
and more. Weitas Creek, twenty-seven miles of unspoiled
catch-and-release fishing water, is a favorite for the
avid fly-fisherman. All the guides are skillful
instructors who will have you catching fish shortly
after your arrival to camp.
The Flying B Ranch is also a Wingshooting Lodge offering
both wingshooting and steelhead fishing adventures from
August 15 through April 15. Our cast-and-blast package
combines two days of wingshooting with one day of
steelhead fishing in one great package. Upland species
commonly found on the Flying B Ranch are Hungarian
partridge, chukar, pheasant, blue and ruffed grouse, and
valley quail. Guests hunt over the Flying B Ranch’s
German Shorthairs and English Pointers, the pride and
joy of the operation. The Flying B Ranch also welcomes
the wingshooter's own dogs into the field.
Steelhead fishing adventures at the Flying B Ranch are
conducted from August 15th through April 15th. The
Flying B Ranch is strategically located near the
Clearwater River, a nationally recognized steelhead
fishery, and has access to over seventy miles of this
pristine water. The Flying B Ranch caters to the
steelhead fisherman whose desire is the thrill of
landing that 12 to 22 pound steelhead trout with a fly.
Power and drift boats equipped with bait and spinning
tackle are also available. For those who choose to keep
your catch, seasonal limits range from two per day to
three per day per person.
