Description

The choice of Florida captains. With a short, forward taper and a hard, smooth coating on a stiff single strand monofilament core, RIO's tarpon fly lines can cast heavy tarpon flies long distances with improved accuracy and great turnover. Total head length varies from 36 ft - 40 ft (11 m - 12.3 m). Available as a floating line, a floating line with a 9 ft AquaLux® intermediate sinking tip or green tint full intermediate with a 9.5 ft AquaLux tip (1.5 ips .7 cm/s). The sinking tip and full intermediate lines feature the same taper as the Clouser line.The intermediate tip has no loops or joints and is very useful, because unlike a full intermediate fly line, the angler can roll cast once to break the line loose, back cast, and get a second shot at the tarpon. RIO's floating intermediate line is the line of choice to get under the floating grass to prevent weeds from fouling the fly. RIO's floating intermediate line is also the best tarpon line in extreme wind.
