Five Rivers Lodge, MontanaComfortable elegance one hour outside of Bozeman. Considered the last uncrowded blue ribbon fishery in the U.S. Abundant wildlife and waterfowl. Secluded wading and floating for Rainbow and Brown Trout. Fish two acres of water on the lodge property. Float the Big Hole, the Upper Beaverhead, Madison and the Jefferson Rivers as well as the opportunity to fish a variety of private waters and spring creeks. This year, we are concentrating on the best of the 'hopper action, the start of the fall brown trout migrations, cooling water temperatures, and trout sipping Tricos along the edges. By all outlooks, the prediction for the West is for an average but good water year this season with normal snow packs being seen so far this winter. So in September, the freestone rivers (Big Hole, Jefferson, Gallatin, Yellowstone) around the lodge are expected to be in great shape of the season. Also, the Madison & Ruby will be prime. The Beaverhead will continue to be excellent as will Poindexter Slough. The private waters and spring creeks will have great 'hopper action and will likely see some nice BWO's popping if the sun decides to hide behind some clouds. 5 Nights / 4 Days

COSTA RICAN TARPON & JUNGLE FISH!For the past few years, we have been looking to get back to Costa Rica’s Caribbean side to once again pursue the giant tarpon swimming in both the ocean and the river system feeding into it. A major portion of the puzzle has been how to get to the always desirable fishing for the local freshwater fish found in the lagoons, as well as the river and creeks systems of the Rio San Juan. We think we may have found the answer… Working with Lefty Perez, who has been fishing this area around Barra del Colorado for 4 decades, and who was one of the first people ever to figure out the secrets of consistently hooking and landing on fly rods what many professional anglers have described as the toughest tarpon on the planet, we have pulled together a first time trip at an exceptional value. We are excited! Bob Marriott himself has been fishing this area for better than 30 years and, after fishing the world over, he still considers the jungles of Costa Rica his favorite place. This trip is for 4-nights with 3-days of fishing. The current travelers on the trip are departing Los Angeles on July 26th and are connecting through Miami on the way to San Jose, Costa Rica.

Bighorn River Lodge, MontanaThe Bighorn River is a body of water that is legendary in the fly fishing world. Thirteen miles of unparalleled fishing opportunity awaits, stretching from the Yellowtail Dam in Fort Smith, bubbling along to the private boat launch at the Bighorn River Lodge. Prepare yourself for spectacular views of lands entrenched in American history. For a change of pace, fish the river below the Bighorn River Lodge and enjoy more secluded fishing opportunities. In the evenings, cast off the private launch area for the evening hatch, or try your luck on the BRL private ponds. The Bighorn River’s reputation as a world class fishery speaks for itself. With the completion of Yellowtail Dam in 1967, the Bighorn has become a clear, cool tailwater hosting between 5000-7000 rainbow and brown trout per mile. The average trout caught on the Bighorn ranges in size from sixteen to twenty inches. Guests are often surprised by the abundance and size of trout caught each day. Without a doubt, fishing the Bighorn River is an unforgettable experience.

Elk River, Fernie, BC, CanadaExperience the "Ultimate Dry Fly Fishing Action" of the Elk River. The Elk River is a spectacular freestone mountain river. With a weed-free stone bottom, the dry fly action resulting from the numerous insect hatches is amazing. The Elk River is known as one of the most pristine and premier dry fly fisheries in the world and is located in the heart of the Canadian Rockies. It is the dry fly action from the abundance of sporadic and mixed insect hatches that makes this river so popular. Bob Marriott and his group will be fishing with the guides from Elk River Guiding Company based in the town of Fernie, BC. Fernie is about 3 hours from Calgary, Alberta. We will fly into Calgary and a luxury shuttle will take the group to the Lizard Creek Lodge where private, single occupancy rooms are reserved for everyone. Meals will be taken at the lodge's restaurant with lunches on the river. And while the fishing emphasis will be at the tremendous dry fishing for energetic cutthroats, don't forget to be ready for the unique opportunity for catching really large Bull Trout! You will definitely want to have a sturdy streamer rig set up to throw giant streamers. These big Bull average around 30" but can exceed 40"! Join Bob Marriott August 1st - 5th, 2012 |
