FIVE RIVERS LODGE, MONTANAJoin Bob Marriott as he returns to the comforts and idealistic surroundings of one of the premier fishing lodges in the West – Five Rivers Lodge outside of Dillon, Montana. Longtime friends Jay Burgin & Mary Jacques will welcome Bob and the rest our group back. If this will be your first time, within moments on the property you too will be considered a friend. Jay and Mary have set a new high standard in quality of accommodation, food, and caring service. The unique location of Five Rivers Lodge offers a rare opportunity to fish a remarkable variety of Montana's least crowded water. You will be surrounded in comfortable elegance only a little over an hour from the Bozeman airport. Fishing options will include floating the Big Hole, the Upper Beaverhead and the Madison Rivers as well as the opportunity to fish a variety of private waters and spring creeks. We will coincide this trip with the infamous Salmon Fly Hatch. This hatch comes off annually sometime around the last week of June and is always dependent upon water levels, water and air temps and of course weather. The legend of this massive stone fly has grown to gargantuan proportions and has spread worldwide. Fishing the “hatch” is on most red blooded fly fisherman’s bucket list. Salmon Flies are huge insects and the adult dries can reach three inches in length; that is sizes #6’s to #2’s – big and bushy enough to be seen by one and all! Regardless if the big bugs show, the trout will be there and the fishing will be great no matter what patterns they will want to eat.
According to several long-range weather forecasters, it appears the West is in for a mild winter with a normal/average amount of snow, resulting in a decent water year next season with normal snow packs. This should lead to manageable water levels in June and great fishing. June 26 - 30, 2013 Hosted by Bob Marriott
$2,195.00 per person. |

ELK RIVER, FERNIE, BC, CANADAExperience the "Ultimate Dry Fly Fishing Action" of the Elk River. The Elk River is a spectacular freestone mountain river. With a weed-free stone bottom, the dry fly action resulting from the numerous insect hatches is amazing. The Elk River is known as one of the most pristine and premier dry fly fisheries in the world and is located in the heart of the Canadian Rockies. It is the dry fly action from the abundance of sporadic and mixed insect hatches that makes this river so popular. Bob Marriott and his group will be fishing with the guides from Elk River Guiding Company based in the town of Fernie, BC. Fernie is about 3 hours from Calgary, Alberta. We will fly into Calgary and a luxury shuttle will take the group to the Lizard Creek Lodge where private, single occupancy rooms are reserved for everyone. Meals will be taken at the lodge's restaurant with lunches on the river. And while the fishing emphasis will be on the tremendous dry fishing for energetic cutthroats, don't forget to be ready for the unique opportunity for catching really large Bull Trout! You will definitely want to have a sturdy streamer rig set up to throw giant streamers. These big Bull average around 30" but can exceed 40"! Join Bob Marriott August 7th – 11th, 2013 The Elk River boasts 8 different floats and numerous walk and wade tributaries. The Elk River is known for its non-stop dry fly action for large Westslope Cutthroat Trout. A vibrant population of large Bull Trout also inhabits the river and can be legally targeted by fly-fishers via fishing streamers. Fly-fishers looking for classic Rocky Mountain Trout fishing without the crowds, and great Dry Fly fishing should consider The Elk River. |

FIVE RIVERS LODGE, MONTANAThis trip with Brant Bounous, the Travel Center Manager, we are focusing on the best of the late season dry fly action, fishing the famous BWO (Blue Wing Olive) hatch, the always important Trico hatch, as well as the opportunity to imitate the largest 'hoppers of the season. This is also the time the get your “streamer fix”. The Brown Trout migration will be in full swing as they prepare to spawn and their colors are at their most vibrant. The cooling water temperatures will have the Browns on the move and the Rainbows stocking up the needed fat reserves for the pending winter season. Comfortable elegance is only a little over an hour outside of Bozeman. This area has so many Blue Ribbon fisheries, it would take you weeks of fishing every day to begin to see all the water options. You will witness the abundant wildlife and waterfowl, the whitetail and mule deer are everywhere, and the ducks, geese and sandhill cranes fill the skies in every direction each morning and evening. Here you will find secluded wading and floating for Rainbow and Brown Trout. Fishing options include the Big Hole, the Upper, the Lower, and the Middle Beaverhead, several sections of the Madison and the Jefferson Rivers. Additional options include the Yellowstone and the Gallatin Rivers. For a more intimate fishing day, you may choose to fish the Ruby River as well as the opportunity to fish a variety of private waters and spring creeks. By the end of September, the local farmers and ranchers will be through with the major irrigation needs and thus will be pulling less water from the rivers making floating easier and even more enjoyable. The Upper Beaverhead will continue to excel, giving up the largest average-sized Rainbows in the state.
September 28 – October 3, 2013 Call us for more details.
