The luxurious Mission Lodge is located on the shores of Lake Aleknagik in the heart of the world-famous Bristol Bay region of Southwest Alaska. This area offers unsurpassed trophy fishing for salmon and trout in a spectacular wilderness setting.
Aleknagik Mission Lodge is uniquely equipped to fly into remote areas by both float plane and specially equipped wheel planes. During your week long stay adventurous anglers are encouraged to spend a day floating on one of the famous trout streams in the region and to rotate through the remote outpost camps on the banks of superb fishing waters.
Hook into trophy sized rainbows or Arctic char. Test your fly fishing skills on Arctic grayling in the clear cold streams. Twenty to forty pound king salmon return in June, with lunkers to fifty pounds not uncommon. In July, waters teem with sockeye, chum, and humpback salmon. Starting in August running through October, the acrobatic silvers provide spectacular days of fishing. Hook these dandies and the line will smoke off your reel, as the fish erupts from the water.
This is an adventure you won't want to miss!
Depending on the week, you may target up to five species of Pacific Salmon, Rainbow Trout, Arctic Char, Dolly Varden, Arctic Grayling, Lake Trout and Northern Pike and most any combination thereof.

In Dillingham you will be greeted by the lodge staff that will transport you and your luggage to Lake Aleknagik by private shuttle. There you will transfer to the boat and enjoy a quick, scenic ride across the lake to the lodge. The staff will whisk your gear to your room, while you shake hands with the hosts and then pick up your fishing license and sample the waiting appetizers.

Easy access, deluxe facilities and unsurpassed trophy fishing make Mission Lodge, the classic Alaska fly out lodge experience. Sauna, Hot tub, sumptuous dining, a comfortable lounge and recreation area are added features of Mission Lodge. A large deck surrounding the facility is just steps from the dock, float planes and boats. Large bay windows frame views of Lake Aleknagik and the beautiful mountains beyond. This is a rugged immense land of startling beauty – a great place to just step out of everyday pressures and relax.
Mission is one of the only lodges in Alaska where a private room is standard. You will sleep on a real bed (not a foam pad on plywood), your window looks out over the lake and the bathroom is just steps away in the lighted hall. Most importantly, you don’t have to listen to Uncle Joe snore all night (or he does not have to listen to you).
For couples, there is special suites that have a private baths in the rooms.
The goal is to utilize the various different fisheries while they are in their prime. To do this, Mission’s pilots will fly you and your guide out to different rivers and streams depending on the species that you are interested in each day.
Each evening prior, you will be asked what kind of experience you are up for the following day. The guides will then get the necessary gear put together in the tackle room (which doubles as a great story telling hang out). The next morning after breakfast you board one of the float planes and head out with a guide (or to a spike camp with a guide waiting) to one of the many world class, and in some cases world famous, rivers and streams of the region. Depending on the location, there may be jet boats positioned to take you up and down the river and to fish from or transport you to different gravel bars for wading.
